Cascata Golf Club
Mild winter temperatures draw visitors to Las Vegas in droves. And thanks to the hard work of the golf course maintenance team at Rio Secco, a green blanket of ryegrass will be waiting for them. In the deserts of the Southwest, as well as other Southern regions, bermudagrass goes dormant as the nighttime temperatures dip below 50 degrees.
On September 27, when Cascata Golf Course re-opens from annual overseed, it will do so with a welcomed bonus – brand new, white, and pristine bunkers. All of the greenside bunkers on Las Vegas’s best public golf course have been renovated with new sand, liner and revamped drainage lines to ensure the best quality playing conditions possible.
Some of the best golf courses in Las Vegas are getting even better as VICI Properties – owners and operators of the Rees Jones designed Rio Secco Golf Club and Cascata – announced a partnership with Brightview to enhance agronomy management across their Las Vegas golf course portfolio. Brightview’s involvement will include heightened management of golf course operation procedures including aerification, overseeding and water irrigation.
Maintaining enthusiasm and growing the game of golf affects much more than the bottom line of your local golf club. The game itself is full of life lessons we should be teaching our young people like honesty, integrity, judgement, sportsmanship and more.
